SAVEURS DE L’INDE    #12025

Indian cuisine is certainly the one that uses the most spices in the world. Spices are found in all Indian dishes, in many desserts and drinks. Spices are really omnipresent in Indian cuisine!

They are found on market stalls first, where perfumes and colours mix to infinity. Then in the kitchens, where the dishes, from north to south of the country, offer precious combinations of flavours and aromas to revive the senses.

In addition to their gustatory qualities, spices have many benefits and are sometimes used ancestrally for their medicinal properties.
They have been used since antiquity and are mentioned in the ancient Hindu sacred texts called Vedas. It would probably take a very large encyclopedia to contain all the cuisine of a country as vast and as old as ours; and to discover, through the recipes, a great diversity of techniques and ingredients.

India has a very wide range of spices, most of which are grown on the Indian subcontinent. They can be "spicy" or delicately flavoured.
There are a multitude of them, but I could still name a few:
Curry, turmeric, ginger, cardamom, mustard seeds, pepper, nutmeg, coriander, red and green chilli, fennel, cloves, star anise, tulsi (star basil), garlic, saffron, cinnamon, fenugreek, tamarind, asafoetida and many more... it is good to say, there is something for everyone...
Each spice can be cooked individually but, more often than not, they are combined into a subtle blend with a unique fragrance that differs from region to region in India.

Admiring all these beautiful pictures of the markets in India, I was really inspired by all these bright and frankly appetizing colors. So I wanted to recreate the reds, oranges and greens of some of these exotic spices in this "Indian flavours" bracelet.

I hope to make you want to try this wonderful Indian cuisine that is not trivial; it is simply delicious and your taste buds will thank you!
